Hello! It is now another Monday. Sadly, I didn’t really have time to work on the project thanks to commissions and college, but I got some designs done. What would actually show up, though, is the leftmost one– Mrs. Wandestinee’s party outfit will be in the demo, and I can’t wait to draw it.

I’m one day late, but if you squint and look at it from another timezone…

Here’s the progress done this week!

  • Lineart for Sinclaire’s formal dress sprite
  • Around 2k more written for the script
  • Finished editing according to beta-read feedback!
  • Not my doing, but Ksen’s been up to doing music stuffs (eyes emoji @ him)

It’s a busy week for me, and it hadn’t been the best either. Tons of unfortunate events happened, pretty much. But I’ll keep chugging along.

I’ll see you next week!

Sorry for not updating as much here! It’s quite a bit of work, juggling the dev stuffs along with multiple social media accounts, so apologies there.

Changes so far:

  • Thala got a new sprite, this time specifically made for this scene.
  • Em got a new pose, along with one when he was a child with Ally.
  • The mini CGs for the demo are roughly 65% done.
  • Models for backgrounds are 40% done.
  • Refined the main GUI, finished some minor tasks.
  • Another 2.4k words have been added to the demo. Script currently being beta-read.
  • Rewrote sections according to feedback! Thank you so much for that.

I will try to give an update next Monday, too. I’ll see you then!

PS. I’m far more active on Twitter.

Looking for beta readers!

Hello!

After a couple of days of roadtrip (right after NaNo, no less) I am back and ready to work. The NaNoDemo for To Weave a Thread has been out for almost a week, now, and the official demo release is set to be this month, hopefully before the very end of it.

So now, I’m looking for beta readers. Here’s the details:

  • You can be a one-off checker for the demo only or be a project-long one! Just state your wishes; I’m very happy to have your help.
  • Script will be sent periodically upon reaching writing milestones. These will be in a communal Google Docs in which you can comment; this is to make sure that old mistakes don’t get called out again and again, and for clarity of communication. (feel free to debate in the comments, though)
  • A point I’m particularly interested in is clarity of information delivery through dialogue, if anyone’s interested in commenting on that. (this is an incredibly fascinating topic I’m in love with, if anyone would care to indulge me)

If you haven’t played the NaNoDemo and would like to see what sort of waters you’re jumping into, go ahead and check it out here!

If you have, and you’re still interested, then feel free to either send an ask, start a message, reply on the Lemmasoft Forums thread, hit me up on Twitter, OR e-mail me at unicorsity@gmail.com!

Despite all odds, a demo managed to surface before NaNoRenO 2017 jam ended in itch.io. :’D

And it’s all thanks to Ksen, who not only allowed me to use the characters but also did all the work on the last day to get this out. Seriously, my thanks is endless here.

Content Notes:

Comparing to the real demo that will be released later in April, this demo has:

  • Full script– nothing’s missing here!
  • Placeholder arts and GUI; at least half of the assets are still being produced.
  • Absolutely no music. It’s total silence.
  • Partial testing. So far it seems to work fine on Mac, but no extensive Windows testing has been done yet. Linux build not yet released; hit me up if you want a build right now or is willing to test the Linux build for the full demo! :’D
  • One person beta-reading and beta-testing it. It’s a fairly straightforward visual novel with no galleries, but so far problems are still a question-marks-ground.

I’d love to see your thoughts, be it on this version or on whether you’d be interested in downloading the full demo!
